| On our third day, we headed up into the Taygetos Mountains, taking Route 82 from Sparti to Kalamata and stopping whenever the surroundings looked promising. Our first stop was just outside Tripi, followed by another a bit farther along after a small series of hairpin bends, and then once more later on—but we didn’t make it much beyond the halfway point to Kalamata.
