In the years since 2006, time and again I started looking at new groups of organisms. Every time, this was both exciting and confusing. Exciting, because so many new unexpected shapes, colors and life histories showed up; but also confusing, because identifying organisms in a group you're unfamiliar with is a tough job! Luckily, I have had help from many enthousiastic experts, who showed me the way every time I got lost - which was, and still is, embarrassingly often! I here want to mention the most prolific contributors by name, to thank them for their input. I also mention the center of gravity of their input.

But first I have to acknowledge the unfailing support of my former wife Karen, who is the genius behind all the technical aspects of this website. Without her support, there would be no Natural History Photographs!
