The Nufenen Pass reaches to ca. 2500 m, well above the tree line. The pass overlooks a rather small glacier, the Griesgletscher.
End of July you'll still find small patches of melting snow. The vegetation is very short, but rich in a variey of small flowers.
This is the domain of the truly alpine species.
